Colour Cosmetics is the makeup range. Lip products are the biggest part of it — lipsticks, liners and glosses — followed by face makeup such as foundation, concealer and powder, then nail care including polish and treatments, and eye makeup from mascara to liner and shadow.

Shopping for shade

• Shade names are not comparable across brands. Where a shade number appears in the product name it is the manufacturer’s own code, not a standard.
• Foundation and concealer are listed with their finish — matte, dewy, satin — which is often a bigger difference in wear than the shade itself.
• Nail polish and remover are shelved together; check whether a shade needs a base or top coat to wear as shown.

Cosmetics have a period-after-opening symbol on the pack — an open jar marked 6M, 12M and so on. It is worth noting when you open something, particularly for eye products.
